Solid sound and nice features make this a gem for the price. The XBass is deep and the sounds are rich. I love it.

1 out of 5 stars Very poor design   August 1, 2009

After a week of not being able to get any sound to come out of the speakers, and several calls into Sharp, I was finally told by a Sharp rep that you cannot add extension speaker wire on to any of the components on this system. I was told you MUST plug the original speaker wire DIRECTLY into the unit, and no wire can be added, even if it's spliced in the middle, etc. Boggles the mind, no? Especially since Sharp only gives you about 18" of wire on the back of each apeaker and on the subwoofer. As a result you end up being forced to set up the system exactly how it looks in the picture---all the components right in a row. This not only looks ridiculous, but is not the way to get decent sound quality. Everyone knows the speakers should be placed away from the main unit, and the subwoofer should be on a lower level, however this arrangement is not possible due to not being able to add more wire. Sound quality reminds me of my 2000 Toyota car radio. I do not recommend this unit unless you are twelve, and fascinated by speakers with flashing lights.

It looks good but I haven't bought it yet so I can't say 5 stars.
