| Customer Reviews: Do Not Buy July 3, 2010 Thomas F. Lonergan The radio on this stereo does not tune correctly, or keep stations from drifting while listening. I bought a Bose to replace it and am experiencing good recption again. The CD player often hangs up on the last track, so is not that reliable. The bose works great.
The entire system is cheaply made, and didn't live up to my expectations. You get what you pay for seems an apt description.
Nice looking unit. February 10, 2010 C. Primeau The radio doesn't get any channels at home or work. It looks very nice on my desk and the CD works well with decent sound.
This is the second one we ordered . . . October 9, 2009 Teri Bea (OH) 2 out of 3 found this review helpful
We were in need of a cd player for my mom who resides in a nursing home and loves to listen to Frank Sinatra and Mel Tourme, to name a few. My sister found a unit similar to this one, only w/o the radio, in a local department store. It was compact and easy for the workers to use.
When my dad became unable to walk and be home, he missed his music so much. So we searched for a unit for his room. I found many compact units, but we wanted one to hang on the wall. I found this one, almost an exact match to mom's, through Amazon. The first unit didn't have the radio, but this one did - a feature I thought dad would like. Mom's has held up over four years of almost daily play so we need the unit would be dependable.
I ordered it and w/i 3-4 days received it. I couldn't believe how quickly it came and how well it was packaged. More importantly, dad loved it. He has had Sony's and JBL's in the past. The unit was lightweight, but well put together. We have to watch how loudly dad plays it so it doesn't disturb the other residents, but the sound quality is good for the size of unit. We have had requests for the information where we bought this unit, and gladly share it.
Something is screwy here. October 2, 2009 Terri L. Manning (Ludington, MI) 2 out of 3 found this review helpful
It's a cheap, lightweight plastic construction with a thin, stretchy net fabric over the speakers. The fabric is loose and you can bunch it up, on one speaker. The CD player chirps and squeaks as it turns. The speakers only put out enough volume to hear it if everything is quiet and you're in the same room. The internal radio antenna only picks up two channels in the house, while all other radios I own pick up more than a dozen clearly. Supersonic's website says the master weight on this radio is 19 lbs. I doubt that this radio, with stand, weighs more than 2 pounds, and it's made in China. The seller boasts a $200.00 dollar retail tag. This unit would have trouble competing at 19.95 on the shelf at Walmart.
